Moses wrote Psalm 90 after leaving Egypt and before arriving at Promised Land. The spies returned news of the land and the people decided they had no hope. Because of this, God pronounced a death sentence on those old enough to have chosen poorly. Those too young to choose were denied entry for four decades. The way from Egypt became a wander through the desert. Homes in the Promised Land were denied; a nomadic lifestyle was the order of the day.
Moses sings a song of praise, sounds a note of prayer, and shouts a cry of triumph. He does this because He knows God’s consistency is comforting. Experiencing God’s consistency is like finding an oasis in the desert.
