David faces life’s storms with a singing heart and a bent knee. He is able to sing in the rain AND be a man after God’s own heart no matter the circumstance. David’s storm finds him singing because God calms chaos. After considering David’s situation, apply his mindset to your life.
The shadow of betrayal sets the background for Psalm 54. David’s response to betrayal and abandonment instructs us greatly. David responds with a confidence that God’s faithfulness never fails. God will never abandon David. David responds to betrayal by focusing on God’s blessing.
Holidays are worth noting. We mark these important and special occasions with marked difference. These are NOT normal days; they require celebration. Psalm 53 highlights God’s actions. God’s actions prompt celebration. Notice three actions worthy of celebration.
Psalm 148 presents a symphony of sound amid the concert of creation. Listen to the full orchestra this morning and pay attention to the individual instruments that comprise it. This psalm of praise, at its heart, expresses of adoration for God. Adoration produces praise. First one adores God, then praises Him.
Times change, but people rarely do. When facing similar conflicts, stresses, and anxiety, balance is the needed remedy. We must hear God’s voice saying “Steady on; keep the course.” Today we remember God provides needed balance to life.
God’s goodness is characterized by His unchanging character. Notice how great God is in His goodness.
What makes you afraid? David writes this psalm specifically for those feeling alone, abandoned, or left out. You are never alone. Not only is God present, but God hears you.
