Fairway Park Baptist Church exists to reflect God’s glory from the Hayward area by producing lifelong followers of Jesus Christ who accurately understand, personally apply, and consistently practice the teachings of God’s Word.
While our methods change to reflect an ever-changing world, we never change our message: God created you to enjoy fellowship with Him and others. He wants you to fully experience the joy of that fellowship today.
Fairway Park Baptist Church makes no apology for holding an “old fashioned” belief. We believe in the Bible as God’s Word. Second, we believe in Jesus, God’s Son and our Savior, as the Hope that He alone can bring! We also believe this is news worth sharing and it affects our life in significant ways. When you are looking for a church to honor the Word of God and worship the God of the Word, Fairway Park Baptist Church is the right place.
Our Logo
Our logo, creatively designed by one of our members, communicates who we are and what we prioritize.
The Outer Circle: This outer circle represents our world. Since we live in a wonderful world God created, we must be involved in telling His greatness to others.
A Green Segment: The green portion represents the verdant Hayward Hills, a portion of California’s East Bay we call home. Because we are not just bystanders, we have local work to do.
Crosses: Three crosses symbolize our message: Jesus of Nazareth, proven to be God’s promised Messiah, died in our place and rose from the dead, just like God said would happen. Those who call on Him are guaranteed rescue from sin and its penalty. Therefore, good news about Jesus is the heart of every message we give and every event we conduct.
An Open Hand: Looking at the logo in its entirety, you see the form of a hand. Good News about Jesus and the life change He brings is not something we keep for ourselves. We share this message by reaching out through various means: local events, world missionary efforts, social media, livestreams, etc.
Our Beliefs (briefly stated):
We believe in:
The Scriptures:
Divinely inspired men wrote the Holy Bible. God is its author, and it is the supreme standard to evaluate all human conduct, creeds, and opinions.
The True God:
There is only one living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, whose name is JEHOVAH. God is the Maker and Supreme Ruler of Heaven and earth. He is inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love.
The Fall of Man:
God created man in holiness, but man voluntarily forfeited that holy and happy state. All mankind are now sinners by choice, and are under God’s just condemnation to eternal ruin, without defense or excuse.
God’s Purpose of Grace:
Election is the eternal purpose of God, according to which he graciously regenerates, sanctifies, and saves sinners. While perfectly consistent with man’s free agency, it is a glorious display of God’s sovereign goodness, being infinitely free, wise, holy, and unchangeable.
The Way of Salvation:
The salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, through the mediation of the Son of God. Jesus assumed our nature, yet without sin. Jesus honored the divine law by His personal obedience. His death made a full atonement for our sins. Having risen from the dead, he sits on Heaven’s throne. Therefore, Jesus is in every way qualified to be a suitable, a compassionate, and all-sufficient Savior. Because of Jesus’ finished work, it is possible to enjoy restored fellowship with God.
Christian Baptism:
Baptism, the immersion in water of a believer in Christ into the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Ghost, demonstrates faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. It is prerequisite to the privileges of a Church relation.
The Lord’s Supper:
The Lord’s Supper is a provision of symbols of Christ’s body and blood, partaken of by the members of the Church. It commemorates the suffering and death of the Lord. It proclaims faith and hope of eternal life through His resurrection from the dead.
A Gospel Church:
A visible Church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. A church observes the ordinances of Christ, is governed by His laws, and exercises their gifts, rights, and privileges.
The World to Come:
Jesus will return personally and visibly for His church prior to the Tribulation and the Millennium. Jesus will return physically to earth at the end of the Tribulation to reign for 1,000 years. After earth’s final judgment, God will judge the wicked to endless sorrow, and the righteous to endless joy. This judgment forever fixes the final state of men in heaven or hell, on principles of righteousness.
