Fairway Park Baptist Church exists to reflect God’s glory in the Hayward area by producing lifelong followers of Jesus Christ who accurately understand, personally apply, and consistently practice the teachings of God’s Word.

Organized in 1955, we serve the South Hayward community of Fairway Park. While our methods change to reflect an ever-changing world, we never change our message: God created you to enjoy fellowship with Him and others and wants you to fully experience the joy of that fellowship today.

Fairway Park Baptist Church makes no apologies for holding an “old fashioned” belief in the Bible as God’s Word, Jesus as God’s Son and our Savior, and the Hope that He alone can bring!  We do not follow the fads being taught in many churches. If you are looking for a church that honors the Word of God and worships the God of the Word, you have found the right place.

Our Beliefs (briefly stated):

We believe in:

The Scriptures:  The Holy Bible was written by divinely inspired men. God is its author and it is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.

The True God:  There is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, whose name is JEHOVAH, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of Heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love.

The Fall of Man:  Man was created in holiness, but voluntarily forfeited that holy and happy state. All mankind are now sinners by choice, and are therefore under God’s just condemnation to eternal ruin, without defense or excuse.

God’s Purpose of Grace:  Election is the eternal purpose of God, according to which he graciously regenerates, sanctifies, and saves sinners. Perfectly consistent with the free agency of man, it is a most glorious display of God’s sovereign goodness, being infinitely free, wise, holy, and unchangeable.

The Way of Salvation:  The salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, through the mediation of the Son of God. Jesus assumed our nature, yet without sin; honored the divine law by his personal obedience, and by his death made a full atonement for our sins. Having risen from the dead, he is now enthroned in heaven.  He is in every way qualified to be a suitable, a compassionate, and an all-sufficient Savior. Because of Jesus’ finished work, it is possible for the fellowship God created us to enjoy to be restored to us.

Christian Baptism:  Baptism is the immersion in water of a believer in Christ, into the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Ghost. It shows one’s faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. It is prerequisite to the privileges of a Church relation.

The Lord’s Supper: The Lord’s Supper is a provision of symbols of Christ’s body and blood, partaken of by the members of the Church, in commemoration of the suffering and death of their Lord. It proclaims their faith and hope of eternal life through His resurrection from the dead.

A Gospel Church:  A visible Church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by his laws, and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by his Word.

The World to Come:  We believe Jesus will return personally and visibly for His church prior to events Bible scholars have named the Tribulation and the Millennium. After earth’s final judgment, the wicked will be judged to endless sorrow, and the righteous to endless joy. This judgment will forever fix the final state of men in heaven or hell, on principles of righteousness.
