The promise of the Bible seems to be that if a person structures his life after Jesus’ pattern, he will definitely suffer for it. The Christian life is not meant to be easy or understood. So how does one live that way? We are told to “be strong and brave” but what does that look like? Taking a cue from training for a race (life is compared to finishing a course) we look at how God would have us prepare to live godly in an ungodly world.
